NRS Bus Tour

Nashville Rose Society Bus Tour on Monday, October 5, 2026

As part of the Medley of Roses – 2026 ARS National Convention & Rose Show, you and your guest are invited to come along on the Nashville Rose Society Bus Tour for $65.00 per person. The number of participants on the tour is limited, therefore, we recommend that you sign up when you register for the Convention.

Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Arboretum
From beautiful blooms to rare species of shrubs, Cheekwood has a wide variety of plants to explore and appreciate. Visit our botanical garden and arboretum today and take in the beauty of our historic landscape!
We plan to meet in the lobby of the Sheraton at 9:30am for a 10:00am departure. The first stop will be at the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. Once the family home of Mabel and Leslie Cheek, this extraordinary 1930s estate, with its historic mansion and 55 acres of cultivated gardens and expansive vistas, today serves the public as a botanic garden, arboretum and museum.

Cheekwood is the home of the Nashville Rose Society Rose Study Garden. In addition to the Rose Garden, there is an Herb Garden, Children’s Garden, and Japanese Garden. A private guided walking tour of the gardens will be available, or you may explore the gardens on your own (the mansion is not open on Monday).

Country Music Hall of Fame
At 12:00 noon, the bus will leave Cheekwood and head to downtown Nashville. We will be dropped-off at the Assembly Food Hall on Broadway near the Country Music Hall of Fame. Anyone interested in touring the Hall of Fame will have a guided tour lead by Lisa Sutton and Melissa “Bunny” Hempel, daughters of Country Music Hall of Fame member Lynn Anderson. Discounted group tickets ($28) to the Hall of Fame can be included in your Convention registration and are good all afternoon on Monday, October 5.

Lunch is available (on your own) at either the Assembly Food Hall, the Country Music Hall of Fame Cafe, or at one of the many restaurants in the area.

Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa Restaurant with live music
After visiting the Hall of Fame, Lisa suggests visiting Miranda Lambert’s Casa Rosa Restaurant (which has a rose theme) and Nudie’s Honky Tonk. Nudie Cohn became famous in America for his decorative rhinestone-covered suits, popularly known as “Nudie Suits” worn by Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, John Wayne and more. All are within walking distance of the Hall of Fame.
Nudies Honky Tonk – Where the Party Never Stops

The bus will pick you up in the Hall of Fame area at 4:00pm to return to the Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport Hotel. If you would like to spend more time enjoying Nashville’s night life, you can take an Uber/Lyft back to the hotel at your own expense.

Accessibility: Transportation between sites will be on a tour bus equipped with a wheelchair lift. Much of Cheekwood is accessible, however, due to the historic nature of the property some areas may present challenges to those in wheelchairs, or those who have difficulty walking or climbing. The Country Music Hall of Fame is fully accessible. Both Cheekwood and the Country Music Hall of Fame provide complimentary, manually-operated wheelchairs on a first-come, first-served basis which can be checked out upon arrival.
